Hanoi is less modern compared to Saigon, but it presents more natural feel, many lakes studded here and there. It is now the capital of Vietnam and was the capital of North Vietnam from 1954 to 1976. The Old Quarter should not be missed. After all, the history of Hanoi goes back over 2,000 years, and the Old Quarter in particular retains an ambiance that gives one insight into the past as well as the present. Interestingly, the similar shops gathered in the same street, and thus named the street accordingly.
