The dark fortress of the early days was transformed into the modernized dwelling of François I and, later, the sumptuous palace of the Sun King, Louis XIV. The main entrance situated under the glass Pyramid (by I. M. Pei). It is a remarkable feat of technical prowess: 22 meters high, with 30 meter sides, it is made up of almost 800 glass lozenges and triangles. The critics of constructing this modern structure in this world renowned Museum has subsided ever since the people admire the harmonious beauty incorporated into the surroundings. As most of the tourists do, I rushed and searched for Monalisa in the very first place. But, slightly disappointed, the painting is small and quite dark. As expected, crowd has gathered in front of her. I couldn’t feel if she was staring at me, probably too many people around huh. The collections in this museum are extremely rich. It is not possible to see all exhibits within a day. Louvre is a “must-do” in Paris, but should never be in hurry.
