Was added to Unesco's World Heritage List in 1996. Enriched by the silver ore, the medieval city was once the financial center of Bohemia. Cathedral of St Barbara is dedicated to the patron saint of miners, is one of the finest Gothic churches in Europe. The visit to the mining museum is interesting, navigating in the pitch dark narrow tunnels. No one knows how deep the water flooded tunnels end. Rest of the sites are not impressive. The Sedlec Ossuary is fully decorated with human skeletons and bones, remains of no fewer than 40,000 people died during a plague. Though it is rather small, but its unique catch lots of camera shots. Felt like visiting Adam's Family house.
